We just returned from our Big Migrations - Explorers Club Flag Expedition.
It was quite a journey! We saw land for the first time on the morning of Day 6, after sailing for 122 hours.
The 1st day was spent walking around the island. Landing on the atoll was quite treacherous since we had to swim through the breakers.
On land... sadly a lot of trash. Birds and crabs everywhere.
Days 2 and 3 were spent diving and tagging sharks and we surprised an illegal fishing boat within the 12 nm territorial waters of the atoll.
On the way back (117 hours) we stopped for almost 2 days at Socorro and San Benidicto islands and were able to dive there.
The Giant Pacific Manta Rays came to play and we even spotted a new idividual that Michel has had the chance to name 'Jules'!
A complete expedition report will be made available on the expedition site in the upcoming months.
